Children's University
We are delighted to promote The Children's University Project here at Our Lady of Walsingham Catholic Primary School.
The University believes in children from all backgrounds making the most of the time they spend outside of school. Working with schools, local communities, businesses, learning providers and other organisations that share their belief in the power of inspirational learning outside the classroom, they aim to help children realise their aspirations and better equip them for the future.
The growing Children's University network is currently made up of more than 20 Universities and Higher Education Institutions, over 1,000 schools and more than 5,000 public places of learning. Together, the opportunities they offer to children are accessed by over 110,000 children who last year alone took part in excess of 3.6 million hours of learning beyond the classroom.
We currently run numerous after-school clubs which enable pupils to gain valuable units towards their special award. These are collected at the end of Year 2 and Year 6 with a special ceremony taking place at Edge Hill University.
Mrs Winters coordinates Children's University for our school.
